Empower + Inspire

The mission of the all-girls squash camp is to embolden and encourage our young women campers to reach further and aspire for their personal goals. We utilize the game of squash as a platform to deliver the many life skills to our campers.

The team of coaches and counsellors are led by Lynn Leong, a former US Squash Junior Women’s assistant coach and currently a senior assistant coach of Yale. She heads a crew of some of the best former US Juniors and current top collegiate women players for this camp, and each of them aspires to bring their own unique squash and life insights to the campers.

The camp programme allows the coaches to share with the girls their experiences and skills garnered from top junior and collegiate tournaments, and their experiences in representing Team USA at international tournaments.

Also as experienced junior squash players, the coaches will be able to share their experience in college recruiting and application process which may guide the campers in their own future applications.

Included in this year’s camp are multiple workshops led by the college coaches, certified nutritionists, sports psychologist, strength and conditioning coaches, and a college admission specialist. These workshops are designed to impart more than technical skills and knowledge but to also build and boost up self-confidence, communication and relationship skills. Topics to be covered are Conflicts and Resolutions, Mental Toughness, Nutrition and Self-Image, including a mini info session regarding college admission process.

Campers will also get to enjoy team building sessions, outdoor group activities and social activities such as movie nights with the instructors as part of their interpersonal and networking sessions.

A Small, Focused and Unique Camp

This overnight camp invites only maximum 12 female campers per session, to provide a safe and focused environment. Our camp’s small size directly affects the quality of our programming as camp quickly becomes a close-knit community that creates strong, positive intrapersonal relationships.

The benefits of being in an All-girls (single gender) Camp

  • At single-gender camps, teenagers are less concerned about their appearance and how well they perform because the opposite sex is not there to observe them. Campers tend to be better focused on the task at hand and tries harder during the activities. Single gender camps remove the usual social pressures and the campers end up having more fun and learning more.
  • Campers find it easier to open-up and make new life-long friends in single-gender camps. Campers truly bond and build strong friendships as there are no one else is competing for their attention.
  • Single-gender camps are perfect places for teenagers to meet same-sex role models who are successful in their field. These role models can share with the campers their stories and motivate them to achieve their goals. Sensitive topics can be broached in healthier and beneficial ways at single gender camps as the discussions and decisions are made with the campers in mind.
  • Campers are also more comfortable confiding in a coach or counsellor of the same sex with a problem or questions. Sensitive topics can be broached in healthier and beneficial ways at single gender camps as the discussions and decisions are made with the campers in mind.
  •  The lines of communication tend to be more open in a same gender camp.
